Lawcomm Solicitors are proud to be sponsoring CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) as our chosen charity.
Every week in the UK at least 12 fit and healthy young people, 35 or under die suddenly from undiagnosed and symptom-less cardiac conditions; 80% of those deaths occur with NO prior symptoms, Cardiac screening has been shown to lead to an 89% reduction in such incidents.
CRY’s charitable purpose is to prevent young, sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and by supporting affected families.
Lawcomm Solicitor’s Managing Director, Bill Dhariwal, is a keen supporter of the Charity. “There is nothing more devastating to family or friends than to lose a young person suddenly due to an undiagnosed heart condition. The sudden loss and enduring pain is simply unbearable. Until there is a national screening programme to help detect heart defects in order to prevent sudden deaths in our young people, we want to help CRY with their excellent screening programme for the young. I have no doubt that CRY’s screening programme will diagnose previously undetected heart conditions, will give peace of mind to families and will save lives. CRY are also at the forefront of research into a number of heart conditions and provide greatly valued bereavement support and counselling. I have been impressed in all of my dealings with CRY and I am proud that all of the staff at Lawcomm Solicitors are happy to support them as our chosen charity.”
