HIPS SUSPENDED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT
Home Information Packs have been suspended with immediate effect, pending legislation for permanent abolition. The coalition government have acted swiftly to suspend the requirement for homeowners to provide a HIP when selling their homes.
The Secretary of State says that he has taken this action to avoid uncertainty and prevent a slump in the already fragile housing market.
